Designer Tone Finnanger drew inspiration from a trip to Venice with its ornate buildings, old cafes, Murano glass chandeliers, hidden gardens, the romance. "The hand-drawn patterns of Songbird are just a sweet nod to the more elaborate designs of Art Nouveau, but it has been fun to try to recreate the feel and look in a light, naiver way, especially in the Cora, Aubrey and Songbird designs. The color palette has a light, dusty pastel feel, which is not typical for the 1900s, but I wanted to tone down the busy patterns and give the collection a soft, watercolor-like effect.
