• Seams so Perfect is very helpful, if they don't have what you need, which is rare, they will get it in a couple days. The choices of fabric is unreal. I say it is like a diabetic going into a bakery, you want one of everything, but only leave with 5 yards plus, not that we need it, just because it is so pretty. :) you know you are guilty of doing the same thing.

• In rural Maine, it is hard to find quality fabric and supplies for sewing projects close to home. (In Maine "close is usually an hour drive :) ) This shop is well stocked with beautiful fabric,  displayed in beautiful ways. Quilts are hung throughout the shop to show customers all the lovely ways the fabric can be coordinated into projects. They offer excellent customer service, always offering to help if you need help selecting/finding particular fabric. I love to be able to shop - in person - to see and feel the fabric which is not possible when you online shop. They sell Janome sewing machines, and they have an excellent supply and display of these machines. The staff is knowledgeable and can usually answer any question about these machines. In a nutshell, Seams Sew Perfect is a customer-focused shop that provides skilled, helpful service and most importantly, a place I trust and love to visit.

If you have questions after you leave they will help you out also including offering classes on the different machines. I highly recommend this quilt shop.

• When purchasing a machine, buyers receive a free two-hour class that explains how to use the many features of their new machine.
• For Christmas my husband has done his shopping for me there and the girls help him pick out items that are useful and practical. Over the years he has purchased 4 Janome machines for me. The lastest being this year a travel mate. On one trip I was looking for material for a Maine theme quilt because a former student of my husband’s, who lives now in Oregon, names her son after him.. they helped me with a window pattern and several different print that made a perfect quilt for the little boy.
• Classes and information from Nina and Cheryl.
• I was commissioned to make a king size quilt which was the pattern I had picked out needed 26 different fabrics. Nina, the owner, took the time to help me pick out my fabric. The quilt was beautiful!
• Nina took the extra time to look for a specific quilt kit I found on line. Sue will take the time to help any of us ( from my quilting group) when we are having trouble understanding a direction on a pattern. They are all amazing.
• Nina and staff will stop what they are doing and help you pick just the right fabric or demonstrate how your machine works.

They were having an on line sale and I was visiting my daughter across the country. I placed an order and asked a question about a matching blender. The store recommended one!
• One of the classes I took, I said no way, what am I doing in this class ‍♀️ well much to my surprise I was so proud of my accomplishment that day. I will be making a large king quilt for my bed -it is the kaleidoscope. The class was taught so I could understand. I have the tendency to overthink and make harder when I just need to take my time and not worry about time and relax and that is what the employees do at Seam so Perfect does -they take their time with everyone.
• My friend and I were late getting to the shop. We thought it closed at 4. It closed at 2. We got there at 2:30. They told us to come in anyway and to take our time. We so appreciated that, because they didn’t have to do that.
• I lost a tiny screw and they called me after finding one, and gave it to me…no charge! Always a wonderful experience to shop at Seams Sew Perfect!

• Nina and Gordon were at a quilt show demonstrating a Janome MB-4S embroidery machine. After hearing Nina tell me all about the features of the machine I made the purchase, but let them keep the it for the remainder of the show, when they were on their way home they dropped it off to me! • Went in looking for fabric for a quilt of valor, to my surprise the owner Nina donated 2 yards of fabric.
• I was in just after Christmas. I decided I wanted to make specific quilt. I was struggling with color. One of the ladies who works there had just stopped I. Yo pick something up. I asked for her thoughts thinking she was working and she came over and spent a significant amount of time helping me. Later to find out she want even worker. But hey help and knowledge of where certain colors etc were in the shop was invaluable to me. Just good people.
• When I bought my last machine at the store, I got so much information and help understanding what it could do. They give out free lessons for all machines purchased there and when I said I'd take the machine she gave me an extra discount on it. Everyone is wonderful and so helpful when I looked at that machine.

• I was having a bad day as the dog I drove 3 hours away to adopt didn't happen. Driving home, I knew I needed a fabric consolation purchase- I deserved fabric. Pulled in at Seams Sew Perfect and walked in... to a totally dark store! What? It turns out I didn't even realize it was New Years Eve Day and the store was closing early. Nina and I surprised each other. I felt so idiotic BUT Nina would have turned the lights back on for me to shop. What kind of store does that? Only my Seams Sew Perfect. I did decline but I felt so much better just for having stopped in. I drove the 2 hours back home much happier than I had been. Nobody beats this kind of customer service.
• I started my sewing school 14 years ago trying to encourage students of all ages to learn the art of sewing. I’ve sent several students and friends to Seams Sew Perfect for sewing machines and they’ve taken great care of them. They’ve come back to class with their new machines and projects to create. They let me how great and happy they were with the service they received.
• I was having trouble loading embroidery designs and their expert had the day off. Nina called her at home to talk me through the problem! I was willing to go back when Robin was working but Robin happily helped me on her day off. They have the best customer service around!
• I stopped in one day and they were demoing different types of feet for the machines. I learned so much in just a few minutes!

• When she was getting ready to open in 2022 I took my Janome machine to a dealer in a different town for servicing. I was told it had died; it could be repaired but no worth it as it was an outdated model. I looked around and took my machine with me and headed to Seams So Perfect a few miles away. I called the store. She was open, but with very little product in the store yet, but she did have some machines, even a couple of used ones. The shelves were being painted and new ones added, but she and an employee took the time to work with me and I walked out with a 9450 Q Janome. She was lucky to be able to keep the same phone number as what the previous owner. I thought that was above and beyond what she needed to do. Thank you Nina.
• I bought a new Janome machine there and included was a class to learn about your machine. I took the class and learned a lot about different features I didn't even realize it could do. It was well worth it to attend.
• It doesn’t matter what I’m looking for. Thread, fabric, notions, or a sewing machine. They go above and beyond to provide what you need. I purchased a large sewing machine and Nina and her husband delivered it to my house and set it up the next day.
• When I was looking for a new machine, I told them what I wanted and they made sure I got it.
• Had a problem with my longarm, they was in the area and actually stopped in to see what was happening. House Call! I will alway buy my machines here.

• Seams Sew Perfect is a shop that provides a number of events throughout the year, to show off new products, or to celebrate milestones for the shop or the sewing/quilting industry. I have purchased my sewing machines from this store and I love that they took the time to find out what I was looking for to help me get the "right" machine. There was no pressure to buy something more fancy to increase their sales. Nina, the owner, helped me. She sat with me and had me practice on a machine then when I decided on a machine she invited me to return and take a class they offer to get to know the machine better (it was free). This class was incredible - I was shown features I know I would never have even looked for or cared about. And I know this is how they do business because many times when I have been in the shop. I have witnessed very similar time and attention given to people shopping for a machine. Anyone can shop online and get something, but it is wonderful to be able to get friendly, knowledgeable and caring service - in person. I truly appreciate the opportunity to shop at this store.
• There was an adorable baby quilt hanging from the ceiling, patchwork with little black eyes and mouth. A little ghost with a children's book available to buy also. " The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt". I was looking for a gift to make for a family friend expecting their first child. The owner shared the pattern she used and helped me find the fabrics to match their color scheme! They loved the gift!!
• While taking a class I tended to fall behind as I am elderly and sometimes I work a bit slower. The instructor took extra time to help me catch up. In addition the store owner also came over to check on me several times. If this is not superior customer service I do not know what is.
• They sold me my Janome and helped me with my first appliqué project. Couldn’t have done it without all the advice they gave me. The classes they hold are very informative.
• I hardly ever do a quilt the color it pictures. They always seem to know the right fabric color or pattern to make it all fit together. It comes out great! Helped me to take the next step to get and explore my new bigger machine. Gave me the confidence and followed with support after.
• There is no one special moment but I can always depend on an attendant helping to coordinate fabrics for any particular project and once the project is completed I am so pleased with the selections of fabrics they helped me with.

• I was lost on where to start; I didn't even have a pattern but I found some fabric I loved. Nina the owner approached me to ask if I needed assistance. She spent an hour with me selecting a pattern I liked and that would incorporate the fabric I found. She was wonderful and the quilt is beautiful !!

• I went to a class to learn about my new serger. Having never used a serger, I didn’t realize it was making an abnormal noise. The teacher picked right up on it and the owner, Nina, sat right down found the problem and fixed it right there! And no charge!!
• I took a rope bowl class at seams so perfect I so enjoyed the experience with ladies there and Sue. She was so helpful, was happy,  and you could tell she wanted you to be successful at the project she was teaching. The projects that are being offered are diverse and fun. I’ve made several since for gifts. ❤️ I also purchased a 550E embroidery machine three years ago, I have used it often to make gifts more personal and special. The free classes, practice, and extra help has given me what I needed to gain confidence in knowing how to machine embroidery, what supplies I needed for specific embroidery projects.
• I stopped by last spring when they were doing the Maine shop hop. The fabric was beautifully displayed with several “idea starters” of what to do with the fabrics for the shop hop.
• The friendlyness and knowledge of the staff at the shop. Every time you go into the store it's like the first time being there all over again. Like a kid in a candy store.
• They gifted a top of the line Janome machine for a raffle for the state quilt show. Amazingly I won it. It got me back into quilting. My goal has been to give it all back, making quilts and bags (IMVO) for kids going to foster care. They have no idea the impact of their generous gift for dozens and dozens of kiddos. Kid’s smiles. A quilt that hugs them back. Comfort at an uncomfortable time…..
• I had just started quilting. They listened to my concerns and sold me a Janome machine. I still use it every day!
• The owner is my aunt, so the special moments i experience is when she tells us about her shop and her progress.
• I went into the shop on the day a new fabric line was to be available but when I got there the boxes had arrived but were yet to be unpacked. They were very busy in the shop but rather than ask me to come back later they began promptly opening the boxes and removing the bolts so I could make my purchase then.
• They were sew helpful when I was sole caretaker for my handicapped sister on hospice. I didn't get out often but a couple times she would have a 'better day' and I would go in for something. (whether I needed the fabric, notion or just a break) They would see us coming, grab a chair for my sister or eventually make a space for her wheelchair. Someone would sit with her while I used the bathroom ( really to have a moment in private to cry) and then I'd wander around the shop, patting fabric. There was no pressure for me to purchase, they just understood. The last 2 times my sister was there she couldn't go in so I promised her I'd only be a minute. Nina and other staff asked if they could go out to say hi and chat with her. The next time I went, my sister had passed. When they asked if they could go out....... well, let's just say we all ended up in tears. This was above and beyond just 'making money'.
• The staff assisted my teen granddaughter with choosing the right fabric and color for a quilt she wanted me to make. The staff were so helpful and patient with her. And they gave me a few helpful hints on how to finish off the quilt too!
• One Saturday I was looking for a contrasting fabric in a soft paisley pattern. A sales clerk walked with me through the entire shop auditioning various fabrics. This took almost an half an hour and I never felt anything else was more important to her. I am sure she is typical of all the shop's workers!
• Brought in a panel and asking or saying I need a design and fabric to go with this. I did give them a rough size I wanted and they ran with it. When I got done fabric cut,labeled and a pattern designed for me. Where else can you get that kind of service.
• The moment that Nina introduced me to my very first Janome sewing machine! Showing me the features, how it works and then asking me if I wanted to try it. Love my machine! Nina is wonderful.
• They fix Janome machines and the owner sat down with me for an hour to help me figure out what I was doing wrong with the machine I bought there. She ended up replacing my bobbin case and I left with a working machine. She was patient and kind!!
• They offered a “free make it event”(several actually) and they are always fun - great chance to network, learn a new quick gift project, and feel valued as a customer by the business.
• I have several. The one I’ll share is a time that I was on screech trying to get my errands done. I stopped into this shop to grab some thread and the owner knew I was a bit stressed. She convinced me to take the time to sit in her workshop where she holds classes,  and had me make a simple, beautiful and easy mug rug. It made my whole day that she insisted that I take time for me. I will always be grateful for that. Nina cares about her customers greatly!
• I recently had my sewing machine serviced. I dropped it off on a Thursday and it was ready the following Tuesday. Only a five day turn around. They were very mindful about me not having to go too long without my machine as I sew just about everyday. I like the fact that this shop really cared about my needs.

• Sadly I've never been to the brick and mortar store, my only interactions have been online through email. But there was no hesitation when I requested help after a computer issue and lost many purchased files. Designs are beautiful!!
• Christmas stocking pattern shared via mail by teacher that just happened to be in the shop when I stopped by to fetch my machine. I would have signed up for class but I do not live close.

• My mother taught me how to sew when I was 7. I loved watching her sew and caught on quickly . I remember” helping” my mother make a quilt for my older sister’s graduation. I loved the bright cheery fabrics, but never paid much attention to the quilt pattern my mother used. Fast forward … my sister’s daughter, my niece, is graduating. I really wanted to re-create the quilt my mom made for my sister. After my mom passed we were going thru her things and I found a picture when my mom gave my sister her quilt . Now I had a picture to work from . I couldn’t recognize the quilt pattern . I tried to duplicate .. but no luck . One day I was chatting with Nina, the owner of SSP and shared my story of wanting to duplicate mom’s quilt and not having much luck . Without hesitation she said .. Bring in the photo and we’ll see what we can do. Nina and her staff were able to draft the quilt pattern and write quilt assembly directions for me.Then came the fun part . It was a group effort . We very closely found bright cheery fabrics really close to the fabrics of many years ago for the quilt. I was able to duplicate my mother’s original quilt only with the unbelievable help and guidance I received from all at SSP. A memory I will never forget is when I gave my niece her graduation quilt. Three generations … my mom made for my sister and me making for her daughter …I copied the original picture of my sister, my mom, and the cheery quilt and included in hercard …. I can’t express how grateful I am to all at SSP for helping me make this happen .

• For a small shop they have everything...machines (& repair), fabric, notions, kits, furniture and classes.
• The last significant purchase for my sewing room was the Janome Horizon 9480. The guidance and patience during the decision was wonderful! And best of all---they are knowledgeable and friendly! Our area is very lucky to have this shop!!
