Tilda Songbird by Tone Finnanger for Tilda Fabrics

The Songbird collection by Norwegian designer Tone Finnanger for Tilda Fabrics is a nod to "The Stile Liberty" - the Italian variant of Art Noveau.  Designer Tone Finnanger drew inspiration from a trip to Venice with its ornate buildings, old cafes, Murano glass chandeliers, hidden gardens, the romance.  Shades of coral, soft blues and greens are grounded by warm cream tones.  This 100% cotton fabric is perfect for quilts, apparel, crafts, totes and more.

"The hand-drawn patterns of Songbird are just a sweet nod to the more elaborate designs of Art Nouveau, but it has been fun to try to recreate the feel and look in a light, naiver way, especially in the Cora, Aubrey and Songbird designs.  The color palette has a light, dusty pastel feel, which is not typical for the 1900s, but I wanted to tone down the busy patterns and give the collection a soft, watercolor-like effect.
